we put up a christmas tree in an apartment.
We put up the tree last night and that thought kept coming into my brain. The christmas we owned the house in Spokane was spent in Las Vegas with my mom and sister. Not that I want to be all Griswold and increase traffic on our street by 400% but having the option is nice.
I downloaded an ebook about planning a homestead, what it means to different people. I know that we might not do everything we say we want to do, but I like having the option. Do I want to milk a cow twice a day for 10 months straight? Probably not, but maybe 5 years from now. Do I want to have a garden and grow as much of my own food as possible, yes. We do it here on the patio so I am certain I will do it there.
It’s now just a matter of waiting for the loan to go through the process and for us to be patient while we wait for a closing day. We moved our date to vacate by 10 days, giving us enough time to get out of the apartment and clean it up.
The next 35 days should be all about slowly doing what we can to get ready for moving day while not doing too much packing that I can’t do anything I want to do at the holidays. It’s hard to blog now, there’s not a lot going on, and do you really need to see pictures of my canned salsa one more time?
