This is a handmade blanket my mother made Madigan when she was 5 or 6. It is the warmest and softest blanket. When I hung it outside to dry I giggled. I am living in the country, with a blanket on the clothes line, chickens in the brooder and greens cooking in the kitchen. As my husband likes to say I am a long way from the expensive tasting menus in Los Angeles and living in NYC.
I don’t know where we are heading on this more self sufficient lifestyle, but I am really enjoying it. The folks we have met along the way are amazing. Oh and the food is much better.
