Chicken stock


After processing so many chickens I had enough backs and necks to make 4 batches of chicken stock. In my stock I put the chicken backs and bones, celery, onions, carrots, salt and pepper.

Mom and Dad eat well.


Madigan had a birthday party to go to, and we had grand plans of going out on a legit date, dinner and a movie. There wasn’t anything playing that we were interested in and really the best food in town is at our house. So we grilled up a couple HUGE steaks and some squash from the farmers market and that was our date.



So if you get brown eggs from brown chickens, do you suppose that lighter colored egg is from one of the barred rock? Still getting about an egg a day. I suspect this egg production will pick up in the next few weeks.
